Chapter 79: Chapter 79: Darkseid War III



[3rd POV]

"Do we really need to do this?" Dick whispered. Him and Gwen were currently in Metropolis, on their ways to a safehouse that Gwen had Lex build her...weapons. The rest of the team was at the Mountain, getting into communication with the League about Gwen's return and her development of the satellite.

"Yes, Dick, we do. Lex has the weapons needed to really start fighting off the invasion" Gwen responded.

"Fine, but let's get this over with quickly. We don't need any of those things finding us" Dick whispered, causing Gwen to nod as they took off, ready to get to their target location.

It didn't take long to get to the location, which was in the basements under Lex Corp headquarters, and a location that only Lex himself could get into. Not even his most trusted scientists could.

Walking to where the door to the basement was, Gwen looked at it, as it glowed, scanning her form, before it opened slowly.

"Huh...he really prepared didn't he?"

"Well duh, who do you think gave him the idea and technology to do this?" Gwen replied with a smirk, as they began to walk down the dark stairwell, with the door closing behind them.

"How much technology did you actually give him?" Dick asked.

"Hmm, a few dozen blueprints? Basically everything needed to mass produce the weapons, create the proper defenses to protect the weapons until I returned, and some other stuff that'd make the production of them easier, as well as my life in general easier" Gwen replied after thinking over it for a few moments.

Dick looked at her in surprise, before they finally stopped walking down stairs, finding themselves in a hallway, and standing in front of them was Lex Luthor.

"Ah, you're finally back. I've completed the tasks you have asked of me, and I do believe I have exceeded your expectations, if you follow me" Lex said, motioning behind him. Looking at eachother, Dick and Gwen slowly followed the man to a large metal door, that slowly twisted open after Lex scanned his palm and eyes.

"Here is the army you wished for the creation of. Here is your Spider Legion" Lex said, as the lights turned on, and Dick's jaw dropped.

Line after line, row after row, and group after group of robots. Just from a rough estimate, Gwen saw at LEAST 10,000 of them. All glowing powerfully, with Gwen's symbol upon their chest.

"Wow...you really outdid yourself Lex" Gwen said, genuinely impressed with the man. While Dick was just gawking on the side, genuinely awed by the army standing below.

"I aim to please" Lex said with a smirk.

"And they're up to the standard I set?"

"They have the powers of each of the Red's, Tornado, Torpedo, Inferno, Volcano, AND they have Amazo's replicative capabilities. They are also uploaded with every martial art on the planet, that I could get my hands on. However, I have found that they can only copy one at a time, and cannot copy the likes of Darkseid's elites. I hope that is okay" Lex spoke, causing Gwen to nod, pleased. While Dick's jaw dropped even more.

"Gwen!"

"What?" Gwen asked.

"You said weapons. You didn't say a huge army with the power of pretty much every League member! How the crap did you eve-you can make the materials..." Dick said, realizing halfway through how it was possible for Gwen to make this.

"That and I had acquired the necessary materials myself, as I believe it would be best to make as many as possible to help humanity" Lex spoke up, causing them to look at him. "Excellent work, Lex, truly" Gwen said genuinely, pleased with the mans work. Yes, she was mind controlling him, but she was pleased nonetheless.

"And did you input the proper activation code?"

"Yes, tied to your voice and your voice alone" Lex replied, causing Gwen to smile, pleased.

"Spider Legion...awaken" Gwen spoke out, as she watched with a wide grin as the legion began to glow, moving slightly as a robotic voice filled the area.

"Spider Legion Online"

Watching the Spider Legion awaken, Gwen turned to her brother and grinned "It's time for us to strike back"

[Later in the day]

"So how are you going to use them? The army you've got, I mean" Wally asked, after Gwen had returned and informed them of the army she had. The one that would be able to fight and battle against the elites of Darkseids army, and the ones that could somewhat easily defeat

any parademon.

"I've got spells that can teleport them. So, once I'm fully ready, I plan on teleporting them to certain cities around the globe, the ones with the least amount of these invaders, while I get rid of the ones in the largest cities. That way we wipe out mass amounts of them, with as little difficulty as possible" Gwen responded, causing the team to look at one another.

"And when are you fully ready?"

"Within a couple of days. I've got some more...things to prepare. But trust me, once they're ready, these invaders won't stand a chance" Gwen responded, knowing she had a few things

she needed ready.

"What sort of things?" M'gann asked, causing Gwen to just smirk.

"A lot of things, trust me. But they're all worth it, and you'll see just what they are within the coming days" Gwen responded simply, causing the team to raise their eyebrows before

shrugging.

"Well, I don't know about you, but I am beat. I'm gonna go take a nap" Wally said, causing the rest of the team to slowly say their goodbyes, making their way into their rooms.

Later that night, as Gwen laid in bed with the girls cuddling against her, she smiled, and decided to finally use the tickets she got.
