C18 – He Showed His Strength!
“Tan Chong has lost his mind! Does he really think he’s an Evolver? Even if he were, there’s no way he could take down that many zombies, right?” jeered one of the two men in the car, a gaunt figure with a sleazy appearance.
They hadn’t witnessed Tan Chong taking out any zombies on their way over, so they had no idea about the extent of his capabilities.
Tan Chong was determined to eliminate this horde of zombies not only to collect over a hundred Energy Stones but also to acquire the fragments. Of course, taking out such a large number of zombies was no simple feat.
Considering his abilities as both a Psychokinesis Master and an Evolver, and with Ming Dong’s support, Tan Chong was confident they could wipe out the zombie group. And if they couldn’t hold off the zombie onslaught, they could always jump in the car and make a quick getaway.
To convince Ming Dong of his strength, Tan Chong decided to demonstrate his power. He launched a fireball with a flick of his hand, and with a thunderous explosion, a zombie’s head was obliterated.
Tan Chong then charged forward, blade in hand. His sword glinted as he mowed down zombies with ease, like reaping wheat. In just moments, he had slain over a dozen.
“Oh my God!”
Ming Dong watched in utter astonishment. He had always thought of Tan Chong as the weakest link in their Mercenary Team. How had his strength surged so dramatically in such a short time?
Tan Chong was not only a Magic Psychokinesis Master but also an Evolver. Ming Dong didn’t know much about the former, so he couldn’t gauge how formidable Tan Chong was in that role. However, as a Level 1 Evolver himself, Ming Dong could deeply appreciate Tan Chong’s prowess as an Evolver.
Tan Chong dispatched zombies with the same ease as slicing through vegetables, proving to be even more formidable than Ming Dong. Now, he had no doubts about Tan Chong’s ability to annihilate the horde. Gripping his own blade, he joined Tan Chong in the fray.
“Why has he become so powerful?” The sleazy man inside the car scowled, his face darkening. He was part of the Mercenary Team too, and although not on Tan Chong’s squad, they were acquainted.
Previously, both he and Tan Chong were seen as the weakest among their peers.
Yet, he never imagined Tan Chong would become so formidable, reaching heights that forced him to look up in awe.
This vast disparity ignited a deep-seated jealousy within him, his eyes betraying a flicker of resentment and bitterness.
“Tan Chong is incredibly powerful. He’s nothing short of a prodigy in cultivation!”
Standing next to Jiang Qiu was a short, muscular man, not nearly as malicious as the sleazy one. Upon witnessing Tan Chong’s abilities, he couldn’t help but exclaim with excitement.
He had never encountered or even heard of someone who could be both a Magic Psychokinesis Master and an Evolver, yet Tan Chong had achieved just that.
In his mind, the term ‘genius’ seemed inadequate to describe Tan Chong; ‘phenomenon’ might be a more fitting label.
Jiang Qiu’s lips were pursed lightly, her eyes gleaming with excitement.
She had been aware of Tan Chong’s strength, but in this moment, her emotions surged with exhilaration.
When she had chosen Tan Chong as her boyfriend, many had counseled her to abandon the thought, claiming he wasn’t good enough for her.
But what caught her eye were Tan Chong’s composure, intelligence, and sense of responsibility. She resolutely chose to stand by him.
She had always had faith that Tan Chong would someday achieve greatness and command the admiration of many.
She just hadn’t expected that day to arrive so swiftly.
Right then, Jiang Qiu was itching to scream at the top of her lungs.
She wanted to declare, “Take a good look at how exceptional the man I chose is!
Are you all green with envy? Filled with regret?
But it’s too late now, because Tan Chong is my man, and nobody can take him away from me!”
